It has been two weeks now since I moved into my Broadview Drive home in East Lansing. Over 65 boxes have been unloaded, broken down and put away. I am starting to slowly begin planning and executing the updates that I want to make in the home.

The buyers of my Frankenmuth home purchased my kitchen, dining room and family room furnishings – they were specifically selected for that home and worked very well. Therefore, finding and purchasing a new kitchen table set that works well in the new space was one of my first goals!

One of the treasures of the Thumb is a furniture manufacturing company called L J Gascho in Pigeon, Mi. This small family business that has grown over the years and now builds heirloom furniture for many furniture stores in Michigan and many other states is a true treasure. If you have not followed them on Facebook or looked at their beautiful pieces at any of your local furniture stores – I encourage you to check them out! I have bedroom pieces from Gascho as well as my new kitchen table set, made entirely of maple.

Friday morning, I rented an
oversize cargo van and made the drive from East Lansing to Pigeon Michigan to pick up this beautiful set. It is now proudly sitting in my kitchen dining area. I will be finishing window treatments, repainting walls and trim and adding artwork and such in the days and weeks to come – but I truly love my new kitchen table set and wanted to share it with you.

Said goodbye to my Sunburst home at noon today. That home was special in many ways. It was the first home that I purchased and lived in by myself after being widowed. It was the first home that I completed the renovation entirely by myself, without Mark weighing in and us working together. It was the house that allowed me to prove to myself that I could do it and everything was going be all right.

Now it’s time for another chapter. There is a wonderful couple moving in there this week – wanting to move to Frankenmuth to be surrounded by family. I know they will have special memories there.

Meanwhile, after I cleaned through the house and loaded up my car, I made the drive to East Lansing to begin unpacking at my new space in my new city. The new chapter has begun. I was excited to have my daughter, son-in-law, and two young granddaughters arrive to come help me hook up all the electronics and eat a dinner of Chick-fil-A with me around the coffee table in the family room. This is the reason I came, after all!! Family first!! ❤️❤️❤️

Happy Thursday!!

I am starting a new chapter in a new city this weekend and I’d LOVE your help if you have a moment!!
I have sold my home in Frankenmuth and purchased one in East Lansing - right down the street from my 2 Michigan grandchildren.
The home is significantly larger so we’ll have lots of room to spread out when my 2 Georgia grandchildren are in Michigan, as well!

I started my design consulting business, Interiors ReNewed LLC, way back in 2004 - when I was helping care for my aging parents and raising 3 busy children. In the last 21 years, I’ve grown so many wonderful residential and commercial clients who have become friends, too!

I will continue my business - and potentially grow it to full time - with this new chapter. I will continue to support my 300+ established clients around Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, as well….so know I’m always here to help in any way! Call me 😊

My request: customer referrals and recommendations about your experience and results are SO VALUABLE and TRUE GOLD when starting in a new area where you are unknown!! If you are able to take a few moments and jot down a line, paragraph or story of your experience with my work and email it to [email protected] - that would be amazing!! The new home is charming and has lots of opportunities to put my touches into it. I will begin documenting that process next week on my Interiors ReNewed page and Instagram, as I have in past renovations….so watch for that and PLEASE comment and provide input as that progresses along! Always much appreciated!

I will miss living in Frankenmuth and all the memories and friends Mark and I had since 1984…and will still be around often….but, I’m excited for what lies ahead in the next chapter!!
