Product of the week: Corn Gluten
Corn gluten meal is the protein by-product of corn milling, a natural product used in lawns as a pre-emergent crabgrass and w**d control. It also contains 10% nitrogen which makes the product a fertilizer combined with a pre-emergent. Corn gluten is a safe alternative to a synthetic product. One indicator as to the best timing to apply corn gluten is when the forsythias are blooming, which is now.
