In loving memory of Robert O. Clark, "Bob"
We are saddened to announce Bob's passing on July 27, 2023. Bob, a lifelong East Providence resident, passed away comfortably in his home on Warren Avenue surrounded by family, and we feel at peace knowing that he can rest now.
We are mourning the loss of a father, grandfather, husband, role model, friend, and business partner. Bob was an integral part of our community and will be missed dearly.
Born on November 4th, 1937, and over his long life Bob was many things, he loved riding motorcycles, he loved his softball team. He was a veteran, and a locksmith from a multi-generational family business, Clark & Sons. Though, no matter how many accolades we list, there are countless others.
He recently was recognized by East Providence Mayor Bob Dasilva for his contributions to Softball, and named a baseball field after him at the Harry C. Mutter Athletic Complex at 1600 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, officially named the Francis Flynn and Robert O. Clark field, which was a huge honor for Bob.
Bob, who was of course a founder of the Clark & Sons Softball team, who won the Amateur Softball Association men's Class A National Title in 1979.
Bob is survived by his wife, Bernice "Mitzi" Clark nee Hanrahan, his sons Robert W. Clark, and John Clark. His stepsons Michael and David Hanrahan, his beloved granddaughters Jenavieve and Olivia, and his younger siblings; David Clark and Patricia Najarian
We plan to honor his incredible life by inviting friends and family to a celebration of life. The date and location is still to be confirmed but please keep an eye out. So we can celebrate the countless memories Bob made with so many of us through the years.
