Sandwich Kitchens and Construction
TITLE: Experienced Carpenter and General Construction (part-time, with opportunity of becoming full-time)
REPORTS TO: Keith Petipas, Owner of Sandwich Kitchens Inc.
JOB SUMMARY:
Sandwich Kitchens Inc. is searching for an experienced part time carpenter with 5 years minimum experience in carpentry and general construction. Cabinetry installation is our main business, but in between kitchen/bath jobs, we take on all other construction related-work. Being an excellent finish carpenter is a requirement. The individual hired should be able to complete a project from frame to finish. The desired candidate is someone who likes change and is willing to take on any task. Work is mostly within 30-45 minutes of the Bourne or Sagamore Bridge. Work to range from 8 - 16 hours most weeks although could develop into additional hours. A commitment of at least 8 hours per week is required. Work hours are scheduled during Monday through Friday. Saturday may also be an option. The desired candidate would have all of their own tools, and a truck capable of pulling trailers from job to job and picking up deliveries (about once per week or two on average). A good driving record is also required. Using our truck to pull the trailer is also an option. Fuel compensation will be provided, should you pull one of our trailers with your vehicle.
MAIN DUTIES:
Install Kitchen and bath cabinets, flooring, windows and tile install (approximately 80% of the time)
Install beams to replace bearing walls, decks, venting and framing smaller areas, typically (approximately 10% of the time)
Do demo work and transfer material to transfer station (in our dump trailer)
Make trips to stores to pick up equipment/materials as needed
Pick up and deliver cabinetry
Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
5 years minimum of related on the job experience
Have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Be able to interact with clients/customers in a professional manner
Be physically fit and able to perform strenuous work
Possess a valid Driver’s license
Be willing to undergo a driver record check/background check (Position is contingent on positive results of a background check)
Positive outcome of 2-3 reference checks
Be able to pull a trailer and back up successfully
Own a truck which can pull a trailer (highly preferred)
