**⚠️❄️FIRST CALL SNOWFALL❄️⚠️**
January 22nd, 2026

Good evening! Lets get right to it! Our first call is for upwards of 10-14 inches from roughly the LIE northward and 6-10 along the south shore.

BUT WHY?

Our temps start off in the teens when flakes start flying so the snow will be light and fluffy. Snow will pile up during the first several hours, but as we head into the overnight hours, temperatures aloft, or higher up, may warm just enough to cause some sleet to mix in, or dry out entirely, especially along the south shore hence the lower forecasted totals. The current modeling is still at odds with how far north that warmer upper layer travels before retreating by Monday morning.

TIMING!!!!!

Right now we expect snow to start falling between 7-10am on Sunday and may continue into Monday morning. The heaviest snows will fall during the afternoon hours before any changeover, so I wouldnt be traveling unless you absolutely have to. Winds are forecast to pick up as we head into Sunday evening so expect a lot of blowing snow, potentially white out conditions, and dangerous travel.

BUT DON, WHEN WILL IT END????

Modeling is still all over the place with when the storm wraps up with one model saying late Sunday night while others keep it going, albeit off and on, into Monday morning and potentially later than that. I would expect that the majority of what we see will fall from Sunday morning into Sunday evening but as we get into Saturday, we should have a much better idea with regards to timing.

WILL WE SEE LESS SNOW THAN WHAT THE MAP SAYS?????????

Yes, depending upon that warmer layer creeping northward from what the current modeling suggest.
