Hello friends 💜🌱

We are full of feelings as we share the news publicly that MXED GREENS will be closing at the end of June. We want to share a little bit about why, and details of what to expect in this final month ❤️‍🩹

It has been a hard decision to make because we love the studio space that the business currently inhabits, and we love and appreciate all of you! The community networks and friendships that have grown out of MXED GREENS are irreplaceable - from folks gathering for medicine making classes and botanical dye workshops, to Herbal Listening School at Foxtrot Farm, to chatting at markets across the valley, to library + college workshops, to all the customers and clients near and far who have supported our sliding scale community apothecary, to the relationships built with herbalists + artists who stock their products with us, and to everyone who agreed to continue wearing masks in our space to keep it accessible during an ongoing 🍳demic. It’s really been a dream come true, and we thank all of you and we love you!
There are a number of practical and personal reasons that we are sunsetting this project and business at this time. The most apparent one is that after almost a decade of partnership, we (Devon & Tasha) are separating. And with that separation comes the reality that we cannot keep collaborating in the same ways, and MXED GREENS is not sustainable as a one-person endeavor. That said, both of us will continue to work in community, with herbalism and art practices, just in different avenues. More details to come on that ✨

Q***R ART LOUNGE ~ MAY 2025

Join us Sat May 31st, 6-9pm for art making - we’ll have supplies for carving and printing mini-linocut stamps into erasers, and thread & yarn for embroidery and knitting/crocheting. feel free to bring your materials or whatever project you are currently excited about (but please don’t take our tools home with you)!

BOTANICAL COLOR LAB 🌸 MAY EDITION

In 2025 we are trying something new for our botanical dye classes! we love experimenting with plant pigments and being in the imperfect process of steaming, steeping and smushing plants to create lasting and ephemeral colors on fabric and paper…and we want to bring that process to you through our Botanical Color Labs! In these classes, we’ll dye fabric with plants whose pigments will remain color- and light-fast on fabric, and play on paper with inks and watercolors whose pigments may be more fleeting.

Each class will have a color focus, so we can hone in on specific plant chemistry and the range of colors possible from each plant.

For May, we are focusing on reds and pinks! Madder root is the classic source of red, and needs to be steeped within a specific temperature range to achieve gorgeous hues. Avocados and seaweed will bring us mauve and dusty pinks, and various flowers and vegetables round out our pigment sources for this day.

Date: Sunday May 4th, 3-5pm
Location: MXED GREENS Studio, Easthampton
Cost: $44, all materials included
Registration required as space is limited, KN95+ masks required

First up, we have blues and purples! Indigo and woad are the classic sources of long-lasting blue plant pigments, but there are many other plants who have these hues! We’ll have black hollyhocks, midnight scabiosa, and other friends whose gorgeous dark petals hold so many pigment possibilities!

this time we’ll be focusing on SYRUPS, and making a *new* version of our perennial favorite Respiratory Resilience Syrup that features elderberries + other immune boosting and respiratory system tonics.
