I am happy to announce that the Easton Library has officially received a grant from the State of Connecticut to construct an addition which will house an expansion of the children's area and to add private reading rooms to the main library!
I have been honored with serving as the chair of the Library Building Committee and would like to thank everyone involved. Huge thanks to Library Director Lynn Zaffino, Assistant Director and Head of Youth Services Mary Beth Rassulo from the library, thanks to the library friends, to Renee Neiger and Diane Parker and all of the library trustees, to First Selectman David Bindelglass from the Town of Easton, to Dawn LaValle from the CT State Library, to State Representative Anne Hughes, to State Representative Tony Scott, and to State Senator Tony Hwang. I would also like to thank the other members of the libary building committee including Anne Fritz Lindval, Kristi Sogofsky, Clair Gutowski, Doreen Collins, James Veal, Diane Parker, and Stephen Edwards, in no particular order.
Also, a special thanks to honor Vida Peskay for all of her insights, encouragement of outside-the-box thinking, and her dedication. We greatly appreciate everyone's help in bringing this to life.
This is a true community project and it couldn't have happened without everyone's support and their love of books, learning, and dedication to the community.
