Laurian Outdoors LLC has been providing superior irrigation service
to customers throughout the Lehigh Valley for more than 35 years.
We are currently expanding services to include stormwater management
and are in search of a full-time seasonal irrigation technician
to join our professional service team and growing company. The position will run from April-November.
We would prefer prior irrigation experience but will train the
right person looking for a career in the industry as an assistant
until certified.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains and repairs irrigation systems
Monitors, troubleshoots, and tests irrigation systems.
Starts irrigation systems for the season and make repair/preventative maintenance recommendations to customers
Repairs and replaces hoses, pipes, and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixtures.
Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
Replaces or repairs irrigation valves.
Installs or repairs irrigation lines.
Properly winterizes irrigation systems to avoid winter damage.
Conducts and records detailed inspections of irrigation systems.
May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Use of hand and power equipment for irrigation duties
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of prior experience with the installation, inspection, and repair of irrigation systems
Valid drivers license required with ability to clear Motor Vehicle Record review
Proficient with conventional and two-wire systems
Knowledge of irrigation equipment (hand and power tools)
Ability to read irrigation site maps and legends
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner to address customer needs or concerns
Must be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside, at times in adverse weather conditions
Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, kneel, and twist repeatedly throughout the day
Must be able to use hand tools and power equipment
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Able to obtain and maintain irrigation certifications.
