Nursery Production: Focus on Shade Tree Production | 6 Week Program

About Us
We are a family owned nursery that has proudly been in business since 1947, now spanning three generations. Our operation is built on hands on learning, professional standards, and a passion for growing high quality plant material.

We are excited to offer a paid, 6 week summer internship for college students interested in horticulture, agriculture, or related fields.

Internship Overview:
This immersive program provides practical, field based experience in nursery production and plant care. Interns will work alongside and learn directly from NYS Certified Nursery and Landscape Professionals, gaining skills that translate directly to careers in the green industry.

Program Length - 6 weeks (May 18 – June 26)
This internship is ideal for students seeking meaningful experience in plant production, tree care, and professional horticulture, while working with an experienced, multigenerational team.

Key Learning Areas: Interns will receive training and hands on experience in:
• Shade and ornamental tree production
• Proper pruning and staking techniques
• Proper fertilization techniques
• Plant identification
• Scouting for pests and basic plant health monitoring

We are looking for motivated individuals who:
• Are currently college students or have a strong interest in horticulture or agriculture
• Hold a high school diploma or GED
• Enjoy working outdoors and learning through hands on experience
• Are eager to build professional skills in the nursery and landscape industry

What We Offer
