CBC is Glad to be part of something bigger. Earlier this year, we went out to the Capitol to introduce a new bill for MN, non vented attics to reduce the R-value from R49 to R30, but with better type of insualtion, that is much more efficient and better in every aspect. With R-30 closed cell spray foam, houses will actually be efficient.
Today we had a great opportunity, to show visually to our Scott County Legislator Ben Bakeberg, what the real issue is and why our solution works. We invited Ben over to one of our jobs in Jordan Mn, and Ben was very responsive and showed up like he said he would, which is very rare with politicians lol. He listened to everything we had to say, and actually cared about the problem and a solution. We had an insulation consultant Tom Harris with us to explain all of the technicalities of the job and the proposed bill. We also had a Representative from Quadrant Aaron Franzen to answer all of the questions regarding the foam product.
Buttom line, here at CBC we love to see other people that truly care about communities issues and finding solutions for it. Big shout out to Ben bakeberg for being there for a community and listen to us, people.

What you see here is thermal camera shows what is happening in the attic. Pictures were taken in the winter. Darker purple spots are the cold spots. Meaning it doesn't have enough insulation in those areas, and little that you know, we go in the attic and see 2-4" of loosefill insulation in those spots. It happens for many reason, one of them is whenever contractor goes in the attic, does any work and doesn't fill up with insulation, or one of those cheaper contractors. Regardless these kind of issues bring frost/moisture/mold, what we do at CBC we do thorough inspection and fix all current issues and do all preventative, to make sure you dont ever need to go in the attic and have peace of mind.

What you see is continious thermal bridging, v***r retarder, R30, and air sealed/non vented attic in Minneapolis. This type of insulation is the best what you can get in this specific situation, and its definitely makes the house energy efficient.

Whenever you decide to replace shingles and if you're looking for ridge vent. Make sure its baffled ridge vent, because baffled ones are higher profile and they have ears on the sides to make sure it works as exhaust not intake.
