Sometimes, an arborist stumbles upon a marvel of creation, an unintended organ that defies our simplistic understanding of tree biology. The threat that this middle-aged Maple tree posed to the serene cabin in the woods justified the removal of the tree, and with it, the dissection of its most intriguing parts. This large burl will surely not go to waste. This backyard space is being transformed into a music studio. The owners were concerned with the heavily leaning pin cherry, maple branches, and dead elm tree hanging over the roof- a tricky scenario that required our arborist to be particularly nimble as he successfully pieced out the threatening trees and limbs so the owners can continue to build this space out without worry about their investment.
