City of Janesville and rock county residents- We are so sorry to hear about all the damage and issues this is causing. We are receiving a lot of calls about window wells filling up with water. We continue to see wells and foundations that are poorly landscaped. Water will go to the lowest point and if the area around your well is like a funnel, it will be a funnel when it rains. Grade should be away from foundations and window wells to keep water from getting to your foundation. In the event you have questions or want someone to repair your well please reach out.

Egress window wells do have failures. We see a number of this brand that doesn't seem to hold up. These were installed per the manufacturer specifications with pea stone back fill. We replaced with a corrugated metal product.
