🚨 Public Service Announcement for Homeowners Using Older Nest Thermostats 🚨

If you have a 1st or 2nd generation Nest thermostat connected to your HVAC system, especially on a 4-wire setup, this is something you need to know.

In October 2025, Google officially stopped providing software updates for these older Nest models. Since then, we’ve seen multiple cases where outdated thermostat software has contributed to major HVAC system failures, including compressor damage on brand-new equipment.

Here’s what can happen:
• The thermostat may cause the system to short-cycle
• Rapid on/off operation creates excessive amp draw
• Internal compressor components can become permanently damaged

We’ve personally seen several compressor failures tied to these setups, particularly when paired with PCM-controlled equipment.

Happy Birthday to the guy who keeps the plumbing department flowing and the chaos under control. 🩷

Joey’s the kind of leader who shows up for his team, keeps things moving behind the scenes, and somehow still ends up being everyone’s favorite person to mess with around the office. Apparently today’s birthday reward is a surprise hug from Taylor.
