Planning a vacation this summer? If you are (specifically to Colorado), you might get to see the Denver International Airport!

This airport is unique due to its intricate roof design. Designed by Fentress Architects, the expansive pointed roof is made of translucent materials and serves as a passive cooling system by reflecting sunlight during the day. Its shape also mimics the peaks of the Rocky Mountains directly behind it, creating a scenic picture when viewed from afar.

UTZ and Associates Architects had the pleasure of teaming with BSA Lifestructures Inc. to design Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System's largest off-campus project to date!

This 64,000 SQ FT project is located in Effingham, Illinois, and replaced an existing building previously located on the site. The design and construction of this project were phased so that the clinic experienced only two days of nonoperational time!

Did you know the Pantheon's large concrete dome is not reinforced with steel? 🤔

Instead, it is constructed with 6-meter-thick concrete walls (approximately 3.28 feet), which withstand forces by sitting on a round base. Its dome also includes many hollow clay jugs embedded within the concrete that greatly reduce the overall weight of the structure while keeping it stable.

Its also contains an oculus at the top, which connects the building to the sky.
