Ground work laid. Just need to laser engrave, stain, clear coat, and conceal and tidy up the wires a little more. The new Atari consoles are compatible with all the old 2600 and 7800 games and I eventually plan on getting wireless controllers too.

Time to declutter some of the ugly wires I have now after buying an Atari 2600+ this Christmas. The speaker was fine by itself, but I have decided to raise the speaker so I can slide the game console underneath and tidy up the mass of wires. I will eventually get wireless game controllers, something not offered in 1977 😉.

Stain matches the existing color well. Just a first going over. Will stain again soon to make it a little darker. First gas pipe bracket going in soon.

I have yet to install anything gas pipe related into this project, but rest assured; it's still in the plans. First I want to get this insert storage area installed.

Inserted a piece of pegboard and installed it last week. I had to order a 2 foot by 2 foot by 1/4 inch sheet of oak plywood and attached it to the sliding part this morning. See video.

Very pleased with the way it's coming together. I really don't want to glue anything yet as I still consider this a prototype.

I reversed the door on one of the lockers many months ago and just never uploaded the pictures. I joined the two cabinets together with screws. I first attached some 1x4 pieces of wood to space them out. Without this space, I would not be able to open the doors without them rubbing each other at the center

I sanded the cabinets down, applied automotive filler primer, sanded, and reapplied, and sanded again. I have yet to decided what the final color will be. Still sad that the oak veneer was just too thin to refinish.

I will be added a special compartment to one side that I am not revealing yet. I have the rough idea sketched out on paper. Stay tuned.

By the way, this was a beast to take upstairs!

$25 oak veneer locker. 74 inches tall, 22 inches deep, 18 inches wide. Bought two.

Bought two 17 year old military uniform lockers. Converting them to storage lockers with gas pipe shelves and biometric lock protection. 74 inches tall, 18 inches wide, 22 inches deep. Stay tuned.
