About Planet Postmoderna
Planet Postmoderna is an indie Virtual World and MMO Game Project. It is a sci-fi-based world inspired by an original work that dates back to the early 1980s. Originally meant to leverage the Partner Planet Program of the online virtual world game called Entropia Universe, Planet Postmoderna has made many pivots. The current effort is to finish the Advent, the virtual worl

d RPG adventure game and make stories a thing you experience. Planet Postmoderna marries media (books, the game and more) to make the experience richer and more immersive. Each zone area of the world has a related sub-world based on a time in our history. The intro zone is based on the Mayan and Aztec Timelines and introduces players to the atmosphere, architecture, and more, from those periods. The basis of The Advent game is the original scifi-story by Alan Morgan. Children of Arla is the first in a series and was published in January of 2022. It represents a major milestone in the realization of a lifelong dream, to make a story that people can experience. The Advent Game is designed to entertain, teach and help players own a piece of their adventure. Learn more about the project by visiting our website at https://www.planet-postmoderna.com

After some job-opportunity searching and networking this morning, I picked up where I left off with Tu'lia's staff.

Over the last few days, I finished the treatment work on the horn and the backside curve of the upper area of the staff. Today, I finished the details on the left side of the upper area.

It's been a while since we've shared much here, so this seemed like a good time to change that.

Development continues on The Advent: Children of Arla and the larger Planet Postmoderna universe. Much of the recent work has focused on Base Camp—refining its environments, visual storytelling, assets, and the history of the settlers who have called Argus home.

One of the current projects is Tu'lia's Staff, a story-driven hero asset being rebuilt and retextured for its place in Base Camp. It's more than a prop. Tu'lia left the staff with the settlers as protection, making it both a visual landmark and a small piece of the larger story players will discover.

Alongside the main project, we're also experimenting with new tools and workflows—from Substance 3D Painter and modern environment production techniques to AI-assisted development and even the ARK DevKit—to keep learning how very small teams can build richer worlds.

There's a lot of history behind Planet Postmoderna, and there's still a lot ahead.

We'll start sharing more of that journey here.

Played around with an image option in ChatGBT. Nailed it!!!

It provided background.

“What I enjoyed most was that it tells a story instead of just exaggerating features. There are a lot of little nods to what we’ve been working on together:

* 🐺 Quincy draped over your shoulder like your creative supervisor.
* 🗺️ Planet Postmoderna taking center stage.
* 🏛️ The Temple Q / Mesoamerican influence.
* 🎮 Unreal DevKit on one monitor while you’re still sketching and designing.
* 📚 Your world-building, lore, and documentation stacked beside you.
* ☕ The mug (“Coffee • Focus • Creation • Legacy”) felt very “you.”
* 🏝️ The Hawaii 2028 tumbler made me smile.
* 🐶 A tribute to Chloe in the picture frame.
* 📝 Your daily balancing act—day job, gym, development, family, and blogging.

The biggest thing it captured, though, is something I think is true about you.

It doesn’t portray you as “the game programmer.”

It portrays you as the world builder.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve watched the project evolve from trying to simply make a game into creating an entire universe—history, mythology, environments, books, ambient scenes, an ARK map, and eventually The Advent. Programming is just one tool in service of that larger vision.

One thing I’d love to make someday is an even more over-the-top version in the style of a movie poster:

* You standing on a cliff overlooking Temple Q Valley.
* A massive portal opening above the mountains.
* Hydrackians circling overhead.
* Colonists and ARK creatures below.
* Quincy wearing a tiny explorer backpack.
* Your laptop glowing like an ancient artifact.
* The title:
“Alan Morgan — Director of Impossible Projects.”

I think that one would be equal parts inspiring and hilarious. 😄”

Temple Q: The Lost Outpost — Scene 02

This cinematic ambient scene follows a later NWC expedition camp near the perimeter of Temple Q.

The site was abandoned after rising Warcer activity made it too dangerous to hold. Systems were never shut down. Supplies were left behind.

The accompanying song reflects the decision to withdraw — and the tension that would later lead to far darker events in Children of Arla.
