Life is better with a hillbilly hot tub!
This poor claw foot baby only has 3 feet and while we could have reused it in the house, I like this application better.
This was the trip where I was finally able to prioritize the hot tub/veggie garden project. I have been attempting to do it for the last year but multiple house emergencies kept me from making the time. Now we are finally starting to put the house back together after a year of taking it all apart. It feels so good to have this dream finally come to life! I am so thankful for the help & encouragement I received even though I know it was difficult for others to see my vision for this space…
It took lots of digging in the rain, muddy outfits & curse words to redefine this area but it was so worth it. I don’t think the previous owner would even recognize this portion of the yard anymore.

Wow - what a project!
A huge thank you to & .clothing for traveling to PA, working 12 hour days… in the rain, not complaining, coming up with creative solutions & MacGyver rain tarps, recycling our barn garbage, making our house not leak, talking about the meaning of life & being generally wonderful people.
We left this trip with new knowledge, inspiration & friends. Absolutely could not have done it without them 🌞💚🌕
Soon we will have new electrical & windows galore… it’s getting harder and harder to leave this place every time…

Today is the day!
I meant to start sowing seeds on the new moon but, ya know, life.
This is actually only about half of the seeds I have stashed away right now. Coming from a time of scarcity (before I bought this house) I have found myself unintentionally hoarding seeds over the last decade of stability. Anyways, I’m finally making a spreadsheet and taking note of what I don’t need and won’t use in the next few years.
Anyone up for a seed swap?
I’m thinking we use one of the big study rooms at on a Sunday morning in the next few weeks.

Cleaning stock and making way for big business changes!
This tattoo balm is one of my new favorites and I’ll tell ya why...
As an herbalist I am tempted to use calendula on everything. So I used my normal face/everything cream on my latest black work tattoo. Whoops. It’s totally fu***ng faded and has much more grey than it should.
The culprit?! Calendula!
It’s such a damn powerful healer than it healed me too much!
So I made this for myself (and for you) so I/we don’t have to suffer needlessly through large knee tattoos that get washed out.

There are no real words to describe how I/We feel right now. This is one of the biggest intentional life changes we will ever make as a family. It is scary, exciting & emotional.
It will be difficult to leave my security blanket. The Lavoie house, Elgin, the familiar ease & suburban life I have held tightly to for the last 9 years. Conversely, it will be easy to leave the familiarity, my past, the suburbs and this damn tiny house that have sustained & informed me, for better or worse.
I am ready. We are ready. Ready to play in the creek. To climb the mountain. To build. To grow. To do what we love and follow our dreams during this short amount of time we have together.
I am incredibly humbled and grateful for this immense privilege. Even after over 5 years in the making, it still doesn’t quite seem real.
