🏡 Today we tackled another floor leveling project to get everything ready for new LVT flooring.
✅ First, we located all the low spots that needed attention. Since this was over existing hardwood, we applied primer, sealed the perimeter with spray foam, and completed a skim coat to prevent the leveler from finding an escape route. If you’ve ever used floor leveler, you know it will find any opening it can!
✅ Next, we applied another coat of primer and used an 8-foot level to identify the correct elevation. We then set screws throughout the low areas to act as level markers and ensure a consistent finish.
✅ Finally, it was time to pour. We mixed approximately 12 buckets of self-leveling compound and carefully filled the low areas until we reached the top of our screw markers. After pouring, we ran a spiked roller through the material to help it flow evenly and release trapped air.
✅ Now it’s time to let it cure for the next 24–48 hours. Once it’s fully dry, we’ll be ready for LVT installation!
