For the safety of our employees and customers, Backyard Pools will be closing today at 2:00 PM due to the severe weather forecast.

Many of our team members have long drives home, and we want to make sure everyone gets there safely before the storms arrive.

Thank you for your understanding as we put safety first. ❤️

Please stay home, stay safe, and know that if the storms cause any damage to your pool, we're here to help.

We plan to reopen tomorrow at 9:00 AM, as long as we have power!

⚡️❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the hardworking linemen who have come from near and far to help get our community back up and running after the storm.

The long hours, dangerous conditions, and time spent away from your own families do not go unnoticed. Because of your dedication, businesses like Backyard Pools were able to get back up and running much quicker than expected.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for helping bring a little normalcy back to Elkhart and for all you do to keep the lights on. You are truly appreciated! 🇺🇸💙

If any of our linemen need a break from the heat next week, please know our doors are open Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Stop in, cool off in the air conditioning, grab a cold bottle of water, charge your devices, and take a breather. It’s the least we can do to say thank you for everything you’re doing for our community. ❤️⚡️

As we get busier and welcome more new customers, we wanted to share a quick guide to parking at Backyard Pools!

Please park in one of the marked areas shown in the photo:
✔️ Along the fence by the Backyard Pools sign
✔️ Straight in front of the building (two rows of vehicles are welcome)

Parking straight helps keep traffic flowing so everyone can safely get in and out of our lot, especially during our busiest times.

⚠️ A Quick Water Testing Update ⚠️

We know many of you have been frustrated with the delays in our water testing system lately, and trust us, we are too.

Unfortunately, the issue is with LaMotte's WaterLink software, the system we use to run and print water tests. This isn't something that can be fixed at the store level, and we've spent hours working with their support team trying to get answers.

LaMotte sent the update below explaining what they've found and what they're doing to fix it.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience while they work through these issues. Thank you for sticking with us during what is already one of the busiest times of the year. 💙

🔥INCOMING: HOT WEATHER POOL ALERT! 🔥

With temperatures climbing into the upper 80s, tthe number 1 question always is -

"Why won't my pool hold chlorine?"

The answer is simple: heat, sunshine, and increased pool use! ☀️💦

When pool water gets warm, chlorine gets used up much faster. Add in UV rays, swimmers, sunscreen, and summer storms, and your pool may need a little extra attention.

Here are a few tips to help keep your water clear:

✅ Test your water regularly
✅ Keep chlorine and stabilizer (CYA) in the proper range
✅ Shock weekly and after heavy pool use
✅ Run your pump longer during extreme heat
✅ Empty skimmer baskets and clean filters often
✅ Keep your water level up as evaporation increases
✅ Don't let your chlorine level reach zero, it's much easier to prevent algae than fight it!

🧂 Salt pool owners: Your salt system may struggle to keep up during periods of extreme heat and heavy swimming. Be sure to check your chlorine levels and supplement if needed.

☀️ Have an automatic cover? Open your pool daily to prevent wrinkles and allow proper circulation.
