Backsplash Time with Kyle B Johnson

This week we made and Installed this sweet custom Barn Door.

We used Weathered Grey stain for the base and Early American for an overtone weathered look.

🏡Yes this is the same house!

Overall project took 3 months but the kitchen itself took 2. Lots of planning and bouncing ideas. We also had a few surprises along the way.

We removed a formal dining room, added a pantry, took out walls, took out windows, new doors, moved doorways, installed 20'LVLs. A floor to ceiling remodel to create an open oasis!

Whites, Golds and Tans o my! Such a clean elegant look. The homeowners knew exactly what they wanted and made our job so much easier. This is one of my favorites for sure!

Sauna Build

We took on a dry sauna build last winter.
We used a variety of products

For the insulation we used mineral wool. There are many benefits including:

---fire/heat resistant
---hydrophobic and will resist mold growth
---slightly higher R-value
---can work as sound proofing

Downside is that it's 20-30 percent more expensive than fiberglass.

HUUM 6 kw heater with WI-FI
----heats up to 150degrees in 15min
----heater with wifi cost $2500

Designed the bench to show no screw heads

Total materials cost $5500

We had the opportunity to turn a small kitchen and formal dining area into a beautiful open concept.

It took a lot of planning and hard work but when a client has a vision and a little bit of patience we can make it happen!
