Darden Mill

Darden Mill The Darden Mill is home to the Appalachian Forest Discovery Center and WV Railroad Museum. The restoration of the 1st and 2nd floors is now completed.

This historic three story structure id listed in the national Regiater of Historic Places and one of only two original structures left in the Elkins Railyard. The Darden Mill, also know as the Elkins Milling Company, was built in 1902 in the Elkins Railyard. It is currently owed by Citizens for Historic Opportunities in Preservation and Education in Randolph County (C-HOPE). The 1st floor is home

to the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area (AFHA) museum and the 2nd floor is home to the West Virginia Railroad museum.
