Do you have a leaking hose in shutoff valve that’s in a terrible location? We were able to raise this valve for better access and while we tried our best not to cut the drywall, we had to cut down about 1.5” due to the register vent not giving enough room to fit our propress gun in. A lot of plumbers will just cut walls without a care creating more expenses. We try our best to think of the additional costs when we’re making cuts into the walls and ceilings.

Something to look out for that may signal you have frozen water lines is running water in one spot of the home and no water running somewhere else. This is caused by ice daming. Somewhere, cold air is being forced into cavities and this will cause water lines to freeze.

Please reach out to us if you need any help with frozen water lines at 443-459-1583.

This is why I do what I do! This job was challenging and had to coordinate two different contractors, including myself, to get this job done.

Their blue polybutylene water line, didn’t know they had this due to the original owner making a repair and not telling them that they had it, broke in the neighbors yard. Why the line was ran in the neighbors yard, nobody knows, but had to be replaced with a 500’ long x 1.5” pipe under the 475’ long flag lot driveway.

We ended up with a total of 9 guys through 3 companies to get this job done.

We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season but now is not the time to forget about the plumbing for our homes. Record breaking cold is set to move into our area and frozen pipes can be a disaster for your home.

We recommend everyone remembering to shut off the valve to all outside hosebibs and remove the hose to properly winterize. If you have a hose that is stuck on the hosebib, please reach out to us and we can get the hose off for you so that you can properly winterize.

A common sign that you have a frozen pipe somewhere is water flowing in most of the faucets and no water flowing out of a certain bathroom or no water all together. If this happens, please give us a call right away as there is a water line that has frozen due to the cold air being forced into spaces where water lines are not exposed to the the tempered air of the home.

As temperatures drop and the winds kick up, this is a perfect recipe for pipes to freeze, especially our outdoor faucets.

Today would be a great day to shutoff the outdoor faucet by the valve inside the home, remove the hose, and open the faucet to drain.

Leaving the hose on, even on frost free hosebibs, will cause them to split.

If you have a situation where you have water in all of the house and say no water in your master bath, the lines supplying that portion of the home are frozen somewhere.

If you find yourself having a possible frozen pipe issue, please give us a call!!

The pictures on top is the before of a sump pump pit that the customer says has never turned on. The pit was fully rotted out from the condensate line, and rocks and debris has been in the pit for who knows how long!

It was in quite a tight spot but we got in there and made it right!

Flippers are gonna flip!!! Found this gem yesterday where the flipper installed a sump pump in a sewage ejector pit. New homeowners stuck with a bill that they shouldn’t have had to pay!!!

Gotta love contractors that say “I do all my own plumbing”! This contractor added a sink and a washing machine to a basement and tied the drain into the Radon vent and sump pump. Folks, when a “contractor” says they can do all the plumbing and electrical, please know that they do not know how to properly run the plumbing nor are they allowed to. An MHIC license does not allow you to do plumbing in Maryland, period!
