Due to damage to the greenhouses from recent storms I am unfortunately closed for the time being. I kept thinking I could salvage the small crop I already had growing when the first rip occurred about six weeks ago but after spending time in here this morning it’s just not feasible or cost effective for an already struggling business. The rising cost in recent years has really taken a toll on profits as I tried to keep my prices reasonable.

Joey and I are still praying about what to do. I absolutely LOVE what I do and will continue to do the flower pots and beds for my regular customers. For the rest of this growing season I will sell what I have managed to salvage and put together at the farmers market or on Facebook.

Thank each of you for the encouragement and support over the years. I’m considering downsizing so maybe I’ll be back smaller and better next year. We’ll just have to see what way God leads me.

If you’re thinking of planting roses, spring is one of the best times! Ever heard of Knockout roses??🌹

Knockouts are shrub-type roses that are highly disease resistant. They produce flower clusters nonstop in huge numbers. Flower colors range from red to pink and yellow. The blooms can be 3 1/2 inches in diameter.

This plant has multiseason interest. Its foliage in the spring and summer is a dark, glossy green, and fall brings on a deep, maroon-purple show.

Always plant in a location that receives at least five hours of full sun a day, with morning sun being the most beneficial.

Knockouts can grow into large shrubs that need to be cut back for the best landscape performance. Prune them early each spring, cutting them back by about 50 percent. Cut the canes at a 45-degree angle facing out to prevent them from holding water. In late July or early August, prune again by about one third. This pruning stimulates vigorous growth the next spring and maintains abundant flowering through the first hard frost.

Here's your November landscape checklist! Some tasks include:

🌳Plant trees and shrubs after soil cools.
✂️Prune back dead or damaged tree limbs.
🌹Propagate roses.
🌼Plant annuals like pansy, pinks, flowering cabbage and kale.
🌸Plant summer-blooming perennials like iris, daylily and daisy.
🟤Add layer of mulch to garden and flower beds.

It’s Ellisville farmers market day!!!! There’s over 90 venders and you don’t want to miss it! I’ve got some precious little Bible verse succulents perfect for those teachers desk!

PS….I’ve been cleaning out the greenhouse so I might make some good deals today!
