Big year to fill up Big Blue AKA Lake Tahoe!......It’s official good news for the new year, we broke the December record!......UC Berkeley’s Central Sierra Snow Lab on Donner Summit reports (more than 16 feet!) of snow just this month, besting the previous high of 15” set December of 1970. We’re also currently at 254% percent of average precipitation for the current water year which began on October 1st!

"My friend James Shakelford (ceramic scientist) sent me this link that 2022 is the UN celebration of glass. James said that there was a successful petition from the glass science community to have 2022 officially designated by the UN as The Year of Glass. In case you haven't already heard about this, a summary of the situation is given at: https://ceramics.org/iyog I am preparing a presentation on glass, art and architectural design.
After the initial UN introduction the video on all the innovations in glass are fascinating."

Commerce Canoe Lighting Project - Vancouver, British Columbia.....Sculpture (The Commerce Canoe) by artist Illarion Gallant is located in downtown Victoria, BC. It symbolizes the canoe as the vessel of commerce, bringing attention to the local Indian culture.
