For all of you DIYers out there who wouldn't normally reach out to a painting company, here's a little tip!
Don't forget the first step! (or the second step after washing your surface, but that's beside the point) Two-in-one paint with primer is good for some projects, but in my mind, there really isn't anything that works nearly as nicely as priming first and then using the proper paint for the job.
The reason being, a properly prepped surface won't require as many coats of paint. The primer acts as a barrier, sealing an ultra dry (or thirsty) surface like drywall or wood which makes sure your color and sheen aren't inconsistent. The primer also acts as an adhesive for your paint, so you won't have to worry about it peeling away from your surface, especially when painting on a smooth surface like metal or plastic.
There are a lot of different reasons to use primer, and while it isn't necessary in every project, it may save you some time and money sometime in the future!
Final tip: We use Zinsser Bullseye 123 primer for most projects, but when working on stone or brick, do your research about masonry primer!
