🤍Antique Persian rugs 🤍

Originate from Persia (modern-day Iran) and have been woven for more than 2,500 years, making them one of the oldest and most respected textile traditions in the world.
Persian rugs were traditionally hand-knotted using wool, silk, or cotton, with colors derived from natural dyes made from plants, insects, roots, and minerals. The designs often carry symbolic meanings inspired by Persian gardens, flowers, trees, animals, and spiritual beliefs. Common motifs include the Tree of Life, the boteh (the motif that inspired paisley), medallions, and floral arabesques.

Historically, Persian rugs were much more than floor coverings. They represented wealth, status, artistry, and cultural identity, and many were treasured as family heirlooms, diplomatic gifts, or valuable trade goods along the Silk Road.

A little recap from my trip to Alaçatı, a place I completely fell in love with. 🤍

From the beautiful stone streets and colorful flowers to the relaxed coastal vibe, every corner felt like a postcard. I can’t believe I had never visited this gorgeous place during the six years I’ve lived in Türkiye.

It’s definitely become one of my favorite places to slow down, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy life’s simple moments. I already can’t wait to go back. ☀️🌸🌊

I was invited to witness how these beautiful pieces are carefully repaired and brought back to life, every thread, every detail, every step done completely by hand with so much patience and artistry. Watching generations of craftsmanship preserve the history of each rug was something truly special.

From worn and faded to beautifully revived, the transformation was incredible to see up close. It gave me an even deeper appreciation for the work, skill, and tradition behind these magical pieces🤍

There’s so much beauty in preserving something old and giving it a second life. ✨
