Slow living project.
We have worked in architectural reuse as diversion consultants and reuse appraisers since 2000. We started in Artisan Garden Company in 2020 to promote the intersection of agrarianism and circular design which is the basis for all of our potager projects.
I designed this barn as a three unit structure (no permits required) and completely from reclaimed lumber and hardware. It has truly been a “slow living” process as my husband and I built it from the ground up between work and family life. It’s not fancy but I love it. Meliton and Azula are pretty happy too.
We also built a tack room, hay storage, equipment room, and a studio, creating a courtyard space. Oh, and coops for the chicks.
Honored to have choose our space for a recent product shoot and our daughter Bec choose the space for her senior picture’s taken by .

I believe beauty and sustainability go hand in hand. I believe moving from a consumption mindset to an intentional mindset provides space to breathe, and I believe if we all begin with small changes, the impact will be profound.
This pic was an impromptu snap during Bec’s senior pic photo shoot. Our eldest is in SF studying film and studio art. Hubby Floyd and I are in the middle with Big D and Bec at our sides. And our sweet stealing the show.
Have a fantastic day xoxo Mar
