Recently rebuilt a covered landing for a great customer in enfield. The old framing was undersized, the deck boards were dry-rotten, and the supporting posts were out of level by over 2”. We supported the roof above and adjacent stairs to remove the old landing, and build over from scratch. The new structure is supported with 6x6 post, sized up from 4x4, and the floor joists are doubled to accommodate the necessary span. The roof above was reset level, as it had sunk down overtime, and we did a great deal of structural repair to the covered staircase, pulling it into level, shoring up the supporting beams, and adding lateral bracing where needed. Start to finish, it was a real blast!
