My clients called and asked if I could give them an estimate to refurbish their existing patio. Before I had a chance to stop out they called me to cancel the appointment. They were going to hold off. It seems what they really wanted was a new patio and had gotten several estimates over $30,000. I asked if I could still stop out and see if there was anything that I could do for them. Turns out, after inspecting the existing patio, we came to the conclusion that the base under the patio was in perfectly fine condition. We didn't need to replace the entire patio including the base. We simply needed to replace the existing pavers which were outdated and failing. We had to remove all of the pavers and touch up a few areas that had been inundated with weeds and organic debris beneath the pavers. There was a small corner under the picnic table that had been built incorrectly. That area, we had to completely remove the base and install new crushed stone in order to support the pavers correctly. So for a little more than half of their original quotes, we would give them the patio they've been dreaming about. The project was going so well that they opted to add on a circular fire pit area and really finish off the space. What a transformation.

My client called and asked if I could do a little "repair" on their stoops. Well, sometimes ya just gotta go "all in". The old slate and bluestone was just too far gone. So, we stripped it all off and gave them a facelift. Bluemist Granite is a far superior product. It doesn't delaminate the way bluestone does. It stands up to Salt and Ice melt incredibly well. And it looks great. You can see from the photos, it's a process. The jackhammer had to come out. The acid wash. The chisels. It took a couple days, but the end result is exactly what my client was looking for.

What a great couple I got the chance meet. During our first meeting, they gave me some ideas they had, From there we quickly found some amazing common ground. This isn't a project that took on a life of its own. Instead, it came about through real collaboration. I'm so lucky I get to do what I do. Tell me what you think

This was supposed to be a total Removal and Replace. A last minute change in an effort to save the client some money and not open Pandora's box, we opted for a veneer over the existing stoop. We got lucky with the height of each step being within code only after the veneer was applied. Things don't always work out this well. But this time, this approach just made sense

They asked for something "Timeless". Something that looks like "my grampa stacked it 80 years ago".
