Creeping St. John’s Wort — Harvest Season

We’re right in the middle of harvesting our 2026 Hypericum calycinum (Creeping St. John’s Wort) crop, and this is one of those harvests where the process is almost as interesting as the plant itself.

It starts with masses of bright yellow flowers. Once flowering is finished, the plants develop seed capsules — and that’s when our work really begins.

The capsules are collected from the field, brought in by the bucket, spread out to dry, and then processed down to what we’re actually after: thousands and thousands of incredibly tiny seeds.

Swipe through to see the process from flower to seed. It’s pretty amazing how much harvested material eventually comes down to such tiny seeds.

Our fresh 2026 Hypericum calycinum seed is currently being harvested and processed and will be available soon.

Pre-orders are now open.

Most people don’t see this stage of coffee

This is how it actually starts.

The seed pushes up, carries the coffee bean with it for a while, and then — almost suddenly — those first bright green leaves open.

It’s a short stage, but one of the more interesting ones to watch.

We’ve been running Coffea arabica ‘Aztec Gold’ through our germination program over the past few weeks, and this part never really gets old.

It’s a dwarf selection, so once it moves past this stage, it stays more compact and manageable — which makes a real difference in production, especially for container and indoor plant programs.

Fresh seeds from this lot are available.

The 2026 Norfolk Pine seed harvest has officially begun! 🌲

This week our Hawaii crew started collecting fresh Araucaria excelsa cones high in the canopy. Some of these magnificent trees reach over 200 feet (60+ meters) tall, so it’s definitely not a job for anyone afraid of heights! As you can see from the photos, the views from up there are incredible.

This year is shaping up to be an exceptional harvest. Thanks to the abundant rainfall Hawaii received, the trees are carrying a fantastic cone crop, and the seed quality is looking excellent.

If you’re looking for fresh Araucaria excelsa (Norfolk Pine) seeds this season, now is the time to reach out. We expect to have excellent availability while the harvest is underway.

📩 Send us a message if you’d like more information or would like to reserve seeds.

One of our favorites waking up again

This is our Pachypodium cactipes mother plant — the one behind the seeds we harvested about two months ago.

After a quiet dormancy period, it’s fully awake again and now in bloom… bright yellow flowers popping against those thick, spiny stems.

This species grows differently than most Pachypodiums — more compact, more character early on, and once it flowers, it really stands out.

Always a nice moment to see it come back to life like this each season.

Seeds from this plant are now available in our shop for anyone wanting to grow it from the very beginning.

Norfolk Island Pine season is looking good this year 🌲

After a lot of rain in Hawaii, we’re finally expecting a strong crop of Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria excelsa) seeds this season — one of those years where everything just lines up right.

Harvest is planned for the end of June, and these are always something special. The seeds are hand-picked from the top of the trees — nothing touches the ground — and processed right there in Hawaii for proper drying.

Because they’re a perishable seed, timing matters. Once ready, they’re shipped dry and should be planted within about 30 days (up to 60 days if kept refrigerated around 40°F).

If this is something you’ve been waiting for, feel free to reach out about pre-orders — we’re starting to plan ahead now.

Waiting on Dragon Tree Seeds 🌳✨

Spotted these forming up in the canopy of one of our Dragon Trees… not quite ready yet, but getting there…

It’s always a bit of a waiting game — watching them slowly ripen, checking back, timing it just right before harvest. Every season feels a little different.

Moments like this are our favorite part of seed growing… just keeping an eye on what nature’s doing next. 🌱
