We recently revisited the bathroom project we tiled a couple of years ago to investigate ongoing low water pressure issues. After the client had the cartridges replaced, we opened the wall and discovered that drop ear fittings were used to connect galvanized pipe directly to copper. This type of connection causes rapid corrosion . To prevent this a dielectric union preferably or a brass fitting should be used to properly separate the two metals. Unfortunately, this error resulted in a significant decrease in water pressure and necessitated an expensive repair. I am glad the client will finally have the functional shower they deserve.
