Site preparation in riparian and flood plain restoration gives native seedlings a chance to establish. The first phase in reed canary grass control involved foliar application of glyphosate during the spring. Thistle and Teasel were also treated at the site utilizing aminopyralid.

Tricky project. We used heavy black plastic to protect a steep embankment the landowner had cleared back in November. The city required them to develop an erosion control plan and HC helped them out. 5000 square feet of plastic sheeting on the Oregon coast can easily be lifted by high winds. Within a couple days of installation the sheeting was tested by heavy rains and high winds. Nothing moved! We recently pulled up the sheeting and grass seeded and straw mulched .
