Earlier this year we wrapped up Phase 1 of the Irving Park Road Study in partnership with , , Goodman Williams Group, , and . Phase 1 focused on an existing conditions analysis of the 6.2-mile corridor between California and Overhill avenues.
The Irving Park Road Study was initiated to establish a coordinated vision for corridor growth focused on an increase in residential choices and housing diversity, promotion of land uses that support access to transit-served bus and rail routes, improvement of how new development relates to the surrounding, lower-scaled residential areas, and the enhancement of pedestrian connections to open space and transit stops. The comprehensive Phase 1 analysis included a History of the Corridor, Visual and Architectural Survey, Demographic and Market Analysis, Land Use and Zoning Review, and a Mobility and Connectivity Analysis. The report will serve as a basis for the Phase 2: Framework Plan.
