Catch leaks before they damage your home or your water bills!
1. Check your water meter before and after a two-hour period when no water is being used. If the meter changes at all, you probably have a leak.
2. Identify toilet leaks by placing a drop of food coloring in the toilet tank. If any color shows up in the bowl after 10 minutes, you have a leak. (Be sure to flush immediately after the experiment to avoid staining the tank.)
3. Examine indoor and outdoor faucet gaskets and pipe fittings for any water on the outside of the pipe to check for surface leaks.

The big freeze is almost here! Take some small precautions to safeguard your home from freezing.
Seal up crawl space vents and make sure your crawl door is closed tight.
Disconnect your hoses from your outside faucets.
If your crawl is not well insulated or you've had freezing issues in the past, let your faucets drip very slowly and keep your cabinet doors open.

Did you know the day after Thanksgiving is such a busy day for plumbers, they've coined the term "Brown Friday"? The most common reason we get called out is because of backed up sinks and disposals. Remember that starches and grease belong in the garbage, not your sink disposal; and scrape all plates before running your disposal or dishwasher. When in doubt about sluggish drains, give us a call before the big day and avoid unpleasant surprises!
