Keep Garage and Doors closed
Open Cabinets in cold areas to Keep Airflow to exposed plumbing
Prepare for power outages

A Cold snap is coming next week.
Reminder:
Turn off those exterior hose valves and winterize your home!
Maybe you have purchased a new home, or still have the exterior hoses attached onto yours- remember to close the shutoff valves inside your basement or crawlspace. DO NOT leave the hoses attached to the spout.
Change your ceiling fan settings to clockwise to push warm drafts down.
Add heat or ventilation to the problem areas you've had in the past.
Keep garage doors closed- even when working outside- it can limit cold temperatures to the rooms and floor spaces located above or near the garage.
Clear gutters of leaves- clogged downspouts allow frozen troughs of water to remain in your gutter. This loosens them or causes them to fall away from the home.
Turn your HVAC dampers to winter? Change your air filter. Keep your exterior Air Handler free from snow and debris to promote efficiency.
Have a safe winter!
