“White Globe” and “Purple Plum” radishes. Super mild and sweet. And look amazing!! I have some extra available if you’re in the neighborhood and want to stop by. Also a few bags of spinach waiting to be harvested. Radishes 1 bundle for $3 or 2 for $5. Spinach $5 a bag and you get to help harvest if you want!😂😂 Also open to bartering for perennials. Or just stop by and say hello to the chickens and ducks

So this just happened…. My wife said “Let’s get 4 chickens” I sometimes forget that “chicken” math is different than regular math. 4 chickens =5 chickens + 4 ducks😂😂

Always excited to see the first things beginning to pop up in the greenhouse. Won’t be long before we are eating fresh radishes, kale, spinach, and lettuce. But with a cold snap coming this weekend, I am covering everything for a little extra protection. Also cool to see that our kale that was planted last fall survived the winter and is thriving. We hope to try and overwinter many more things this year in order to have a very early crop next spring. Trial and error is how we learn here. Mostly error really…😂😂

Glad to get the rain storage hooked up. It’s been super dry this year, and we are on a shallow well, which means we have to be super careful with how much water we use. Each of these holds around 275 gallons and allows us to water an extra couple times a week. Managed to get them hooked up before the little bit of rain we got this weekend and they are already 1/2 full. In the future we are going to try and hide them under the deck to protect them from sun and make it a bit more aesthetically pleasing.

FLASH SALE!! We have lots of extra Kale and Swiss Chard this week. Stop by and grab what you need. We don’t want it to go to waste. Leave a few bucks if you want, or just take some. We made Chard/Kale kimchi last week with it, but don’t have time to do anything with it this weekend. PLEASE HELP!!😂😂 Also, if you stop when we’re around you can try some edible flowers. They add some beauty to your otherwise boring salads. Jennifer Renzi

One of the things we find most rewarding about growing food is how as the year progresses, the less money we spend on feeding ourselves. Tonight, much of what we ate came from the garden. Lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, Onion chives, and Borage. Some of the fun is the array of different colors we get to eat. I’m pretty sure we “hit up” every color of the rainbow tonight. Hopefully, later in the year, tomatoes and cucumbers can be on our menu too.

The lettuce has done well beyond our expectations. We have managed to get 4 to 5 cuttings off the same plant this year, but the greenhouse is beginning to get too hot for it. Time to liquidate the beds and make room for some other heat loving plants. This will be our last harvest of lettuce until later in the year when it starts to cool down again. We will be harvesting early Sunday morning and will have bags available for pickup after 9AM. Anybody out there want a bag? $5 for a 10 oz bag.

This year is mostly about learning here on the farm. We are mostly focusing on growing fast growing crops such as lettuce, radish, beets, and such. The nice part is that we get to grow multiple successions of a plant in the same growing season which allows us to learn more about it in a short period of time. But, we also hope to add more perennials into the mix. We love the idea of something that we only have to plant once and will continue to produce for us year after year.
