The things you find when you take down wallpaper and cheap mirrors… we have the plans for the house, built in 1907 and remodeled in 1932. This stuff was on the blueprint… just took some digging..

And so it begins, again...another old house that I like to call an onion, because each layer you peel back it stinks a little more. Sheetrock patches over 110 year old lathe and plaster. This should be fun!

Revisited a prior project for a wonderful family... decided that they did want a front rail but didn’t want something ordinary... so I designed/ built some simple standing planters from cedar leftover from prior jobs. Thanks CK Shingle, , Earth+Flax for the linseed oil finished, Neil Cashes for as always hauling my stuff around!

After too many delays for a wonderful family in Little Silver, this old shed got some new doors. The shed is about 2deg out of plumb, 2deg out of square, and wracked on its center line. All considered, I’m happy with the fitment . CK Shingle for the lumber, for the fasteners, Earth+Flax for the paint!

If there ever is a tornado in NJ, I want to be behind these doors.

Let’s hide the ugly underbelly of the deck. Gonzalo Cuevas Ruiz installed an insane patio at Cyndi’s house... if you need a mason- he can not be beat,
I can not say that enough... HE CAN NOT BE BEAT IN QUALITY AND DESIGN. so I am finally buttoning up what’s left for me. Slowly, but getting there. The one side is actually a hidden gate system, so she can still use the space for easy storage. Last side goes in next weekend, and I will bore you all with another post. The back will be lined with tightly woven “no seeum “ nylon screen to further shield the view.

This all started 18 months ago as a friendly “I might have some work for you “ here on Facebook, and became a wonderful friendship. Thanks Cyndi Loo. For the work, advise, patience and laughs. One side left, and a look at what I was fortunate enough to be entrusted with.
