Theme and Parks. Love to see Fabric Structures begin used in playgrounds, theme parks and waterfront properties.

Fabric structures bring theme parks, playgrounds, and waterfronts to life — offering shade, translucency, and dramatic forms that create experiences, not just shelter. From shaded play areas to waterfront pavilions, tensile membranes add color, graphics, and iconic shapes while keeping spaces open and inviting. As parks and public spaces evolve, these lightweight structures are becoming central to the guest experience.

How do we revitalize classic suburban retail anchors for the modern era?

Start with the roof.

This design concept transforms Macys at Willowbrook Mall in NJ, heavy-masonry department store facade into a lower flat roof. By leveraging the versatility of lightweight tensile membrane structures, we’ve introduced a vibrant rooftop restaurant concept that breathes new life into the building's footprint.

Key Design Highlights:
The Canopy: A dramatic, multi-conical white tensile fabric roof that offers weather protection and solar shading for outdoor dining, while drastically softening the building's original rigid geometry.

Seamless Integration: Wide sliding glass doors bridge the gap between the indoor department store space and the open-air pavilion, creating a fluid, indoor-outdoor hospitality experience.

Street-Level Impact: Even from a low-angle parking lot perspective, the sweeping curves of the membrane structure create an undeniable visual draw, transforming a passive storefront into an active landmark.

As retail assets continue to evolve, blending commercial space with hospitality and entertainment isn't just a trend—it's the future of property modernization. Tensile architecture allows us to add these high-impact, lightweight vertical extensions without the massive structural overhead of traditional builds.
