On the 11th day of Christmas getting cozy by the fire, restin’ the dogs & contemplating which classic Christmas movie to watch.

🔥 Who else is a fan of the Netflix fireplace?

🔥 I love that it starts w/kindling and turns into a raging fire, realistic crackling & yuletide sounds of the season 🎶

On the 9th day of Christmas (finally) starting the Christmas puzzles.

Do you enjoy jigsaw puzzles?

Any guesses how many we will assemble this year? We have 7; 6 are 1000 pieces & one is 500.

🎄 The table is filled w/handmade ornaments from our children.

🧩 This is the 30th December for some of the puzzles. They were purchased at Longs.

🧩 I worked for Longs Drug Stores and employees paid cost plus 10%.

🧩 Longs used the code Charleston. C = 1, H=2 etc. so cat = $1.38.

🧩 The letters for “cost” were on the price tags ~ remember those?

On the 4th day of Christmas sharing
•inspiration from the movie “Write Before Christmas” circa 2017,
•de-cluttering Christmas Cards &
•2 fun facts about me.

📬 Do you like sending or receiving cards?

If you want to see more more handmade cards, I made a 10 sec real in the previous post.

Swipe to see the card & envelope I made then sealed, then opened so I could take a photo 📷

📷 stash of cards w/cute matching envelopes, postcards, money cards & address labels like the one pictured above.
📷 cards organized neatly waiting to be filled out & sent.

📕 In the movie the main character sends 5 Christmas Cards to 5 people who have impacter her life. The cards were initially purchased for her bf, but he broke up with her before Christmas… surprise 😆
I decided handwrite 25 cards during the month of December.
And, de-clutter my stash of Christmas Cards (I’m pretty sure there’s more stashed somewhere, but I found more than enough for this year. ❣️For many years I was a Stampin’Up! Demonstrator
❣️You might guess, I enjoy making & receiving handmade cards… and teacher others how to make them.
❣️I am TERRIBLE at sending/giving cards… I make them or buy them, sometimes I even fill them out, write a letter & address & stamp and then I do NOT mail them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dec 2nd: December’s Habit of the month is “Self-Care”* Read on to learn how my girlfriends & I turned it into a fun “countdown to Christmas” quasi gift exchange.
I’m incredibly L-A-Z-Y when it comes to self-care. Even the basics 🙄

As I de-clutter & organize our home… I realize I have a “stash” of self-care beauty items including something I bought last December 😬 (swipe)
Building Habits is easier w/support & even better with friends and family.
Last year a couple girlfriends & I did a little 12 days of Christmas exchange. We live miles apart, so each day after opening our gifts we shared pictures in a group chat.
If you’ve been following me, you know
“I ❤️ Trader Joe’s” and while I resisted most of their holiday treats, I indulged myself in this years 12 days of Beauty.
I was hoping my friends would want to play along with me & they are 👏🏻 Since there’s 12 days & we have varied schedules, we opened Door 1 yesterday the 1st & are sharing w/each other the next day. Basically a self-care check-in. Opening a door & then sharing every other day will take is to December 24th. Fun, Easy way to connect with each other & indulge in little surprises through the month of December.
And… a bonus win-win for me; a year later, I’m finally “de-cluttering” last year’s purchase while treating myself to a little surprise each day as I work on implementing daily self-care routines into my daily habits.

*Habits by Month:
October = De-Clutter
November = Paperwork

Once upon a time there was a menu desk….

☕️ it’s been a desk, a computer station, a bar and a catchall

☕️ it was never 💯 functional, but I knew it could be

☕️ we demolished it

☕️ built a beverage bar

☕️ it’s functional and no longer a catchall BUT…

☕️ I haven’t figure out how to set it up maximizing it’s full potential and cuteness factor… YET

Here’s where I typically get stuck and spin in circles, lose motivation, give up and basically stop all forward progress. Does this happen to you??

Thankfully, I finally realized this pattern and have come up with a plan

1. I’ll revisit at Christmas because I’m going to totally change it anyway for the season

2. I have TOO much stuff… so going to
a. consume BEFORE buying more
b. de-clutter the rest

🤞🏼friendly reminder to be KIND to YOURSELF, too

it’s much easier for me to take care of others, especially my children & the last thing I want to add to my “to-do” list is taking care of myself ...well, I do, but I don’t ~ anyone else feel physically, mentally and/or emotionally tired?

and those moments when I don’t care for myself, I’m not very kind with my thoughts

for 2021 & beyond....

Mind/Thoughts: self-talk, focus on accomplishments, learn from failures and Keep Trying (ie., stay motivated)

Body: care for the inside & outside of my body & enjoy the journey. Food for Fuel, as Medicine & eat that Treat w/out guilt. Eating food as fuel will help provide the energy needed to do the things you enjoy

Soul: focus on gratitude, practice meditation & give myself GRACE (lots & lots of grace, lol)

💥 reminder that goal setting & planning leads to productivity

💥 routines lead to success in following our plans

💥 being organized allows us to be productive which results in doing the things that each of us was uniquely created to do

💥 it’s okay to figure it out as you go along, fight through the frustration

💥 try new things, it’s okay to fail, it’s okay not to like it... but you never know until you try p.s. You are probably your biggest critic so be KIND

What are your FUN goals for 2021?
..meanwhile, sharing a few quick tips to help you get started working towards your goals.

Taking the first STEP is always the hardest part.... but getting started is easy as 1,2,3

👟 1: figure what you want to achieve (goals)

👟 2: choose a few things (goals) to work on for the next 3 months

👟 3: breakdown each goal into the “steps” needed to achieve the goal

then use this list to take the next “steps” toward achieving your goals 💫

ps. goals can be FUN.... one of my goals is to visit as many new places as possible in 2021 🧳

What are your FUN goals for this year? Please share because most of us could probably enjoy a little more FUN in our lives!!

White Russian on Holiday

A Typical White Russian is Vodka, Coffee Liquer & Heavy Cream over ice.

For a festive version substitute Peppermint Vodka or Peppermint Mocha Kahlua. You don’t need both, but why not go for it, if you happen to have them.
For a cocoa version without the Peppermint, substitute Cocoa Cream in place of the heavy cream, it’s also okay to use both.
Or be like me & mix it ALL together 😋

There are no rules here, except to kick back, relax & drink responsibly of course.

Be sure to like the post if this interests you, leave a comment, share and do all the things so more people can see this.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Cheers,

great reminder, especially this time of year -

Havin’ a Ball (or 20) in the Baking 4 Six Kitchen with these No-Bake Energy Bites.
One bowl & just 6 “healthy” ingredients.
Here’s what I used:

All from
•1 cup Rolled Oats
•1/2 cup Flaxseed Meal
•1/2 cup Crunchy Almond Butter
•1/2 cup completely cacao chips*
•1/3 cup maple syrup
•1 teaspoon Vanilla

Combine all the ingredients together & shape into 1” balls (tip: use a cookie scoop like the one pictured). Place onto a baking sheet & freeze until set. Then, place into a freezer safe container for storage.
When the urge to pop a ball of frozen cookie dough into your mouth hits you, grab one of these instead 😋

Feel Free to substitute to your liking....
👉🏼any nut butter, chocolate chips and/or liquid “syrupy-style” sweetener (like honey) will work

Drop a 🍪 if you like frozen cookie dough like me!! Either way, please tell me if you’d consider making these or at least eating them if someone made them for you ~

Maple Syrup can be substituted for refined sugar in most recipes.

According to

🍁 “¼ cup serving of maple syrup contains more calcium than the same amount of milk and more potassium than a banana. It's also a good source of magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and iron.”

🍁 “Maple syrup contains high levels of phytohormone and abscisic acid. According to research, this type of acid is a natural defense in controlling diabetes and other metabolic syndromes”

🍁 “Maple syrup contains antioxidants, which can delay or prevent free radical induced diseases, such as diabetes and cancer. A portion of ¼ cup of maple syrup contains as many antioxidants as a raw tomato or broccoli.”

🍁 “Just came across this... “Maple syrup is more effective than broccoli, blueberries, carrots and tomatoes in significantly slowing cancerous cell growth in the brain, prostate and lungs”
