CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE!!!

I knew replacing these back steps wasn’t going to be cheap, but I still wasn’t ready for how unfinished they’d feel after seeing the final build.

I paid about $3,400 for these new wood steps and railing, and right now all I can see is basic treated lumber, rough cuts, and a setup that feels more temporary than custom.

The contractor says once the wood dries out and gets stained, it’ll look completely different.

Maybe he’s right… but for over three grand I honestly expected something that looked a little more polished from day one.

Am I overthinking it, or would you be questioning this too for that kind of money?

🤦🏾‍♂️ CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE!!! 🤦🏾‍♂️

This Deck Railing. Our friends rent a home through a large company and their front porch was falling apart. The company clearly chose the lowest bidder for the job because this was the end result.
