It was an honor to be recognized by ENR for our work Bristol Community College’s National Offshore Wind Institute (NOWI) alongside D.F. Pray General Contractors. This was a challenging project with a program that was unique in many aspects. It’s successful completion is the direct result of the collaborative efforts between all team members.

Work in progress photos from one of our current historic preservation projects: the Antioch School located at 618 Rock Street in Fall River, MA. Originally constructed in 1895, this Shingle Style home once belonged to Jerome Borden, former President of Cook Borden & Co., Inc. and President of the Union Savings Bank. The property is located within the city's first 40C Local Historic District the adoption of which was spearheaded by the Fall River Preservation Society.

Ongoing exterior restoration work consists of the complete removal of all exterior painted shingle siding and the replacement with new red cedar shingle siding in keeping with the original design. Vinyl siding at the roof dormers will be removed and replaced with new wood shingles. Damaged wood trim and details are being replaced with new to match the original and will receive new painted finishes. The four chimneys have now been repointed and have received new flashing.

Recent work undertaken by the school included new insulation for all exterior walls and electrical upgrades.

Funding for this project is being provided by both the Fall River Community Preservation Committee and Antioch School.

Fall River Central Fire Station - Civitects conducted a detailed inspection of the decorative metal panels above the apparatus bay doors and the masonry parapet construction. The evaluation was performed as the necessary next step in our effort to preserve the original details and restore the Bedford Street facade of this historic structure.
