In case you’re new around here, I’m Lindsey! I grow cut flowers on a little piece of Kentucky land called Toad Hill Flower Farm 🐸🌻

It all started with a pollinator garden. Cosmos, borage, nasturtiums, just watching the bees go by. But between all that digging in the dirt, I fell completely in love with flowers. The way they grow, the way they make people feel, the way a fresh cut stem seems to heal a hard day.

So when we settled into our Kentucky home, and I finally had real land to work with, I knew I wanted to share that feeling with other people. I tried my hand at growing cut flowers and never looked back.

I’m also a brand new mama. These days my daughter tags along for all the dirt covered adventures. And honestly, this is the life I’ve only ever dreamed of.

We grow using organic practices here because I believe the land takes care of us when we take care of it. The bees and butterflies that started this whole journey are still very welcome here 🐝

P.S. This photo is from July of last year. I was 8 months pregnant and even though I was a sweaty mess, I was in my happy place. Some things never change 🫶

To the women who made me 💐

I have been blessed with many strong, loving, wise women guiding me through this life. And becoming a mother has changed me in ways I never saw coming. My prayer is to be that same binding force for my baby girl.

We don’t have flowers blooming this year, but I’ve got a big plan for next spring! They say some things take longer than you planned, and turn out better than you expected. And that feels a lot like my own journey to motherhood.

Happy Mother’s Day to every kind of mother today. Those celebrating, longing, grieving, healing, and those holding all of it at once.

We’ve got flowers people! 🤩

Okay, so they’re not dramatic or lush, but I’m celebrating them anyway! Rudbeckia triloba. She’s a glimpse of what’s to come this summer and I can’t wait to show you her in all of her full glory.

My back has been a whole lot happier lately! Hubs put in water lines and I am seriously so thankful.

Last year I was hauling jugs of water in the summer heat while heavily pregnant. This year I would’ve been hauling them with a whole baby strapped to my back, so this upgrade came at exactly the right time 🙌

P.S. Peep that itty bitty baby foot 🐣 our newest employee is already learning the ropes, dirty toes and all!

And before you ask… yes, the gloves are mismatched on purpose. One’s for detail work, and one’s leather for those mean little wild raspberries 🔪🌿
