Now THAT is a Halloween horror story. 😳👻

Don’t get us wrong, we love a good Facebook memory popping up from 2011 just as much as the next person. But if that’s the ONLY place your family photos are saved, we might have a problem.

Between forgotten passwords, hacked accounts, and the possibility of losing access to your photos, relying on one social media platform to hold years of memories is a little too spooky for our liking. 😂

Consider this your friendly Halloween reminder to make sure your favorite family photos are saved somewhere outside of social media, too!

And if you’ve got boxes of old photos sitting around that you’d love to have digitized and backed up, we’d be happy to help.

And let’s be honest, most of those boxes probably haven’t been opened in at least 10 years. 😂

We get it! Going through decades of family photos, VHS tapes, and old film reels sounds like a project that could take approximately 6 business years.

But here’s the good news: You don’t have to sort through every single photo or figure out what’s on every tape before getting started.

When was the last time you actually watched those old home videos sitting in your basement or closet? 👀

We’re willing to bet it’s been a while. And honestly, we get it! Most people don’t even have a working VCR anymore, so those tapes just keep getting moved from one storage spot to another.

But imagine being able to pull up your childhood Christmas mornings, family vacations, or that one embarrassing video your siblings will NEVER let you forget whenever you want. 😂

That’s exactly why we do what we do! Let us help you get those old tapes digitized so you can actually enjoy the memories you’ve been holding onto all these years.

Moving is already enough of a project without adding “figure out what to do with 12 boxes of family photos, VHS tapes and old film reels” to the list. 😅

If you know a move or downsizing is somewhere in your future, start thinking about those memories before you’re surrounded by boxes and trying to decide what makes the cut.

And you don’t have to sort, label and perfectly organize everything first.

Remember when Dad would pull out the camcorder and everyone would immediately start saying, “Stop recording!”? 😂

At the time, it probably felt like he was filming absolutely nothing. Birthday cake. Christmas morning. Kids playing in the backyard. Family members sitting around talking. Someone cooking dinner while everyone else was in the kitchen.

But years later, those are the videos that can mean the most.

You get to see the house you grew up in, hear voices you haven’t heard in years, watch your parents when they were younger, and catch all those little moments nobody knew would become memories.

So here’s to the dads who recorded everything, even when we complained about it. Turns out, you were onto something. ❤️

And if Dad’s VHS collection is still sitting in a box somewhere, bring it to us. We’ll take care of digitizing it so the whole family can watch those memories again.

If you have boxes of photos that aren’t labeled, aren’t in chronological order, and definitely aren’t organized into beautiful little albums, you’re in good company. 😂

It can be really easy to put off preserving them because you feel like you need to sort through everything first.

Start with getting them preserved.

Photos can fade, get damaged, stick together, or simply get lost over the years. Having digital copies gives you a backup of the memories that matter, and you can always tackle the organizing later when you have the time (or we can so it for you!)

And you don’t have to spend your weekends scanning hundreds of photos yourself. That’s exactly what we’re here for.

50 years of VHS. Just think about how much life has been recorded on those little tapes. 🥹

First steps and first birthdays. Graduations. Weddings. Christmas mornings. Family vacations. Beloved pets. Ordinary afternoons at home that nobody realized would mean so much someday.

Over the years, we’ve even had the privilege of preserving footage of major local events, along with some of the last videos families have of people they love.

That’s what makes this work so special to us. A VHS tape might be “outdated technology” but the moment you see someone’s face or hear their voice again, suddenly 20, 30, or 40 years doesn’t feel that long ago.

So happy 50th anniversary to VHS, and to all the big milestones, everyday moments, questionable hairstyles, family chaos, and pieces of history it helped us hold onto. ❤️

We spend a lot of time helping other families preserve their memories, and this week we’re taking a little time to make some of our own. 💙

We’re officially out of the office on vacation this week!

You can absolutely still reach out with questions or inquire about digitizing your photos, VHS tapes, film reels, and other family memories. Just know that we’re unplugging for a bit and will be responding to messages when we’re back next week.
