When Hannah reached out to me about needing labels for cookies for the fundraiser I didn’t even hesitate to donate them. Like she stated, this isn’t about being acknowledged for what we do. It’s about rallying around a family who never hesitates to help others. The Boyer’s have gone through more than anyone should have to in the last few years. It’s our time as a community to lift them up and support them now.
Little fun fact: Junior and I went through firefighter 1 class together several years ago and I have always considered him a friend. He’s a great guy who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need.
When I saw the flier for Shelly & Josiah’s fundraiser I knew I needed to do something. Even though I don’t know them personally, I have followed along for a couple years now. They have once again been faced with the unimaginable that no family should have to endure.
I reached out to Robert & John who are hosting the fundraiser to see if I could donate some baked goods to go along with the meals they are selling. They both agreed that would be a great idea and gave me the go ahead. However, they already have 400+ pre-orders for meals (which is a blessing). We discussed that it would be a great idea that I reach out to some other local bakers to see if they would be willing to help out.
Since I am fairly new to this baking world there aren’t many local bakers that I am familiar with other than Allen with Sweet E's Pastries. (She is my right hand woman). I texted Erin and asked if she would be willing to help and/or if she knew of other local bakers, as to which she does. She then took it upon herself to create a group chat of Nicole with Kitten’s Cookies and Suzanne with Scratch. The four of us have came up with a wonderful plan to get these sweet treats done and ready to go with your meals. As some of you may already know TACC Designs LLC makes all of my custom labels for my packaging. I reached out to Ashlee about needing labels for this event and she has graciously agreed to donate all of the labels to go on my baked goods as well.
This is far from a “bragging” post but more of a community rallying together to help a family in need. It’s bakers that don’t compete against each other, yet come together to work as a team for a great cause. I cannot thank these ladies above enough.
I have attached the flier below with the information of the fundraiser. If you are not able to donate or grab a meal they sure could use all of the thoughts and prayers sent their way 🫶🏼
