Kitchen renovation in a 1915 home. Opened everything; moved bathroom; removed chimney from 3rd story on down; replaced kitchen with period correct quarter sawn oak cabinets and custom millwork to match original trim moldings. Moved multiple boiler lines to open up wall into dining room and give clean exterior wall lines. Beautiful project!

Going back to January 2014. A crazy cold winter when I made a custom sauna for a customer. This one was made in my shop. When I say ”we” in the video, my assistants were my little girls and our cat. 😂

These are so nice and are a great part of my upbringing.

I’d be happy to build one for you!

Update Photos of Federal Courtroom Restoration

 A lot of the court room furniture including the witness stand, jury box modesty panel, deputy desk, wall panels, etc. were fabricated in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, they shipped them in huge pieces. 😳 We were able to get them moved into the courtroom and begin final trim out. The trim work was challenging, yet rewarding. It allowed me to create woodwork to match century old design. This was exceptionally fine woodwork. A lot of the pieces I was given to install were quartersawn oak of the finest quality.

Pictures of the hallway chair rail: This is a 5 piece system of individual molding pieces set one after another to make the final product. This required literally thousands of fine miter cuts, but it’s completed.

Official dedication of the courtroom was completed today, but I will post more images when it is all done with carpet and all of the seating and furniture.

15’ x 15’ stand alone screen porch I built this year. LP Smartsiding; LVT flooring over concrete slab; knotty alder walls and ceilings; wired for power and internet service.

A special feature of this one is the Ezebreeze windows which are vinyl film making up the window instead of glass. The 4 track units open up wide for great ventilation.

It’s a great space to stream movies, read, or nap while the breeze rustles the poplar leaves on the big shade trees. It’s such a relaxing place. The customers absolutely loved it.

Just finished today. A blue river-pour end table. Remnants of a cottonwood slab cut to size and epoxy poured. Added LED under mount ajustable lighting to highlight the ‘river’ flow. Turned out very well ... although that’s just my viewpoint based on my vision for this project. 🤷‍♂️ This is just a tiny sampling of many color options.

I’m getting closer to offering very high quality slab pours for customers.

Live edge end table. This one was cottonwood and revealed a lot of red inner grains after the epoxy pours and finishing. The original slab seemed sub-par at first, but a few neat projects came from it. This one included a mini epoxy river pour.

Here’s a nice project that is coming along well. I did all the walls in this cabin with Basswood tongue and groove. All ceilings are Walnut tongue and groove. Walnut is such a beautiful product and the combination is very pleasing. An added bonus was the aroma of the walnut as it is cut. It is so rich in fragrance. Over 3000 ft.² of wall and ceiling boards were used. I milled all of the finish trim from the same lumber in my shop. FUN! I will add photos of the completed project complete with finish trim after the flooring and kitchen is set.

Finally adding some further progress images at the end of July. I got to do all of the kitchen cabinetry, bookshelf, sliding ladder, and barn door system. It was a beautiful project to work on.

Decking an 11’ x 50’ flat roof on a house we built on Ottertail lake a few years back. It’s huge!! Protected the rubber roofing membrane and framed over the top; decking material is a Azek PVC decking which works well for these applications where air flow is restricted under the composite decking. For the railing we went with aluminum posts and rails. We used top and bottom rails intended for glass panels. Instead used Wild Hog welded steel panels in silver color.

This was a very enjoyable project. A twin Murphy bed/desk system I built for my oldest daughter. Built from scratch. Hardware from Hiddenbed USA (also available from other retailers including Rockler). Added a few custom touches for fun. I’ve enjoyed getting into some Murphy bed builds.
