Hey all y'all, let's talk basil! We have 2 full trays of several different basils including: lemon, lime, purple, sweet, mammoth, Genovese, and cinnamon! Besides smelling great, basils can also be used in cooking and can help deter pests!
If you run a leaf between your fingers and place it at the base of a plant you want to protect or at a point of entry into your home every so often and it will help deter mosquitoes.
If you're going to be outside, sitting on the patio, run some basil leaves on your exposed skin to get some mosquito protection (we can only speak for ourselves but we've had up to 4 hours of protection that has worked comparably to bug sprays without all the chemicals).
Disclaimer: if you're active, gardening or mowing the yard or something, you may not get as much protection but if you just want to sit outside, just hanging out, you should experience some mosquito protection.
Finally, basil is easy to grow in small containers, is quick to propagate, and can be adapted to grow indoors all year round!
