Creative Deck & Fence, LLC is hiring 3 experienced workers for exterior construction and general jobsite labor.

With 35 years established, we are looking to bring on dependable, capable people who want to be part of moving this company forward. We cover a wide range of exterior residential work, with a primary focus on decks, fences, docks, gazebos, pergolas, patio rooms, roofs, painting, and staining. Our work requires people who understand what it means to show up ready, work with purpose, and take pride in building something solid.

This is hands on, physically demanding work. It involves material handling, tear outs, framing, post setting, power tools, site prep, demolition, finish work, and the kind of day-to-day problem solving that comes with real construction. Some days are straightforward, some days require grit and adaptability, but every day calls for consistency, awareness, and effort.

We are looking for individuals who have reliable transportation, experience with construction labor and power tools, and the ability to perform well in an outdoor jobsite environment. Skill matters, but so do attitude, work ethic, and the ability to be part of a crew that respects the trade and the standard we uphold.

We are wanting to provide a clear update and reassurance for all current Creative Deck & Fence, LLC clients. First and foremost, thank you for your patience and for trusting us with your project. We take that trust seriously as our reputation is built on consistent, A+ service spanning more than 35 years, and we protect that standard by finishing projects the right way, safely, and with workmanship we can stand behind.

This winter weather combined with frozen ground has limited what we can safely and correctly do. I have also been dealing with private family matters (death in the family, my wife and CFO received a cancer diagnosis with follicular lymphoma (which is now in remission), homeschooling, an ongoing Probate and Estate dispute with someone who can only be described as the Anti-Christ, and I have been in a seven month battle with AT&T over the companies number/billing inconsistencies, which is why the line has sometimes shown “busy” or “not receiving calls.” (Proof of all this is available upon request). The logistical and staffing challenges have also hit our scheduling and estimated deadlines, and I know it can look, these aren't excuses, just being transparent so any concerned parties understand the reality of what’s been going on, so I’m asking for a little grace while we get through it and push hard into spring.

As soon as the season breaks and the ground thaws, we will be moving forward steadily, and clients will be taken care of in order of completion based on contract signing date, speed in which your project will be completed, and where each project sits in the current build sequence. Spring conditions will also allow for a better installation, safer working conditions, and a smoother/faster workflow from start to finish. You'll have your project ready for a new season full of warm weather without it having to endure the harsh conditions of the cold environment.

How much does it cost to build a Deck in 2026?

"When you hear “a deck,” your brain pictures a simple rectangle with some boards and a railing, like a big wooden welcome mat. That’s not what a $100k deck is. A $100k deck is an outdoor structure, it’s basically a small addition to your house that happens to be outside. Size alone can get you there fast. You start creeping into 600, 800, 1,000 square feet, you add stairs, landings, elevation changes, and suddenly the scope isn’t “a deck,” it’s a system with real load requirements and real consequences if it’s done sloppy.

Then the part nobody factors in, custom work is not “a little extra,” it’s a different universe. Inlay designs, picture framing, heat wrapped composite fascia, cladding, board bending, curved borders, custom bent railings, those are labor multipliers. You don’t just slap that together and hope it looks right. It takes layout, planning, specialty tools, and patience. And when you’re doing high end finishes, mistakes aren’t cheap. One wrong cut can turn into a chain reaction of rework, wasted material, and hours burned chasing perfection. That’s why the price jumps, it’s not greed, it’s time and precision.

Materials are another rabbit hole people underestimate. Everybody compares it to treated lumber because that’s what they’ve seen for 20 years. Cool, treated lumber is the economy car. Now you start talking Trex, TimberTech, Dekorators, Ultradeck, PVC boards, or exotic hardwoods like ipe, tigerwood, mahogany, ash, red cedar, now you’re in the performance tier. Different fastening systems, different expansion and contraction rules, different substructure requirements, and railings can be a whole separate build by themselves. Cable rail, glass, aluminum, iron, custom vinyl or composite rails, those aren’t just “parts,” they’re precision installs that have to meet code and still look clean. Stairs and railings are where a lot of deck budgets quietly go to die.

And then you add the stuff people actually want now, not just a platform, but an outdoor living room. Pergolas, roofs, waterproofing, under deck drainage, lighting, fireplaces, benches, outdoor kitchens, hot tubs, waterfalls, privacy walls. At that point you’re coordinating multiple trades, permits, inspections, structural reinforcement, and long term warranty responsibility. So if you get a quote that makes your eyes water, don’t assume your contractor is trying to buy a yacht. Sometimes you’re asking for a six figure result and your brain is still pricing it like it’s 2009 and everybody’s just nailing boards to a ledger."
