🚘 I Started With a Used F-150 and a Dream.
A few years ago, NexGen Construction wasn’t a company with multiple trucks, trailers, equipment, employees, subcontractors, and projects happening across Virginia.
It was just me…
A young guy with a used F-150, a dream, and a belief that hard work would eventually pay off.
But my story actually started long before that.
👦 As a kid, I spent my summers working alongside my dad in his flooring business. While most kids were sleeping in or playing video games, I was loading materials, carrying tools, cleaning jobsites, and learning what it meant to take pride in your work.
I didn’t realize it then, but those summers shaped who I would become.
They taught me that your word matters.
That quality matters.
That people remember how you treat them long after the job is finished.
Those lessons are a big part of why this company is called NexGen Construction.
The name isn’t just about being a newer company.
It’s about becoming the next generation of contractors raising the standard for honesty, communication, craftsmanship, and customer service.
When I started my own business, I didn’t have everything figured out.
No fancy office.
No fleet of trucks.
No expensive equipment.
Just a used F-150, a willingness to work, and a dream worth chasing.
I started with small roofing jobs and took on whatever work I could find.
Every dollar I made went right back into the business….better tools, better equipment, better training, and building a company people could trust.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something…
Construction isn’t really about construction you know?
It’s about people.
Over the years, I’ve met homeowners who had projects they’d wanted to complete for years.
Some were busy raising families.
Some worked long hours.
Some simply couldn’t do the work anymore.
Others had homes that needed a fresh start after years of wear and tear.
And I kept hearing the same words:
“We’ve been meaning to do this since forever ago.”
That’s when it clicked.
We aren’t just building decks.
We aren’t just finishing basements.
We aren’t just doing additions and garages.
We aren’t just remodeling kitchens and bathrooms.

And there is nothing more rewarding than handing over a completed project and hearing someone say:

None of that happened because of me alone.
