I didn’t build this oven but I’m so happy to see it built! I provided full drawings and extensive consulting to the client, who sought to create a versatile mobile bread oven for his local church community. I love the inventiveness of this wood-fired in Tulum, Mexico! And its beautiful arched doorway. Hearth bricks could use a replacement though...pizza came out great anyway!

Excited to announce that I’ll be teaching another earthen oven hands on course The Heartwood School in Becket, MA Aug 19-20. More info at Heartwood’s website. Beautiful winter light shining on this brick oven built a few years ago. It’s currently surrounded by all the patio furniture because we are at the clients house prepping for a big porch, but it’s always nice to get to check in on our work.
