Sometimes the makeover starts with staring at a piece and thinking… something about this is bothering me. 😂

This little desk was already adorable under all that paint, but the drawer layout just felt off. So we moved that pretty detailed middle drawer up to the top, where it could actually be the star, and suddenly the whole thing made more sense.

Then she got a soft dusty pink finish, refreshed hardware, and a much-needed little facelift.

Nothing huge. We didn’t completely reinvent her we just moved one thing, cleaned everything else up, and let all those curves and details be pretty again.

And apparently we’re in our pink era over here and I’m not mad about it. 😂

Remember Tuesday’s little dresser? Well… she had a big brother. 😂

Same dark finish. Same very 1987 hardware. Same random decorative shell that we decided had lived a long and fulfilling life.

We gave this one the same makeover; a fresh creamy finish, simple warm brass pulls, and just enough editing to let all of those pretty original details stand out instead of competing with each other.

I think my favorite part of BOTH of these is that little row of trim across the top. You barely noticed it before, and now it’s one of the things that makes them so pretty.

She didn’t need a whole new personality. She just needed a little love.

This dresser already had everything going for her; pretty curves, those little feet, gorgeous detailing and hardware that actually deserved to stay. She’d just seen better days.

So we cleaned her up, gave her a soft dusty pink makeover, refreshed the original hardware, and let all those details do their thing again.

I mean… look at her now. She’s just pretty. That’s it. That’s the post. 😂

Okay, this one got a little more than a fresh coat of paint. 😂

We knew there was a good dresser hiding under all that dark brown, but some of the details were making her feel a little too dated. So we simplified the front, removed the decorative center piece, gave the whole thing a fresh creamy finish, and traded the old ornate hardware for simple warm brass pulls.

And LOOK at how much prettier the little trim across the top is now that you can actually see it.

Same dresser. Same character. Just significantly less 1987. 😂

This is exactly why we love finding these older pieces. Sometimes you don’t need to change everything; you just have to figure out which details are worth keeping and which ones have had their moment.

Sometimes they just need a fresh start.

This one already had such a pretty shape; that curved front is what got me; but the dark finish was hiding so much of it. We gave her a much lighter look, swapped those old drop pulls for simple warm brass k***s, and suddenly she feels completely different.

Nothing dramatic. Nothing complicated. Just a really good reminder of what a little paint and the right hardware can do. 🤍
And yes, I am absolutely still going to bring home every curvy dresser I find. 😂
